The managing director of Tatort Verein e.V., Ulrike Thoenninges, is visiting the Preda Foundation 5 to 12 January 2024 to bring the generous and substantial donation of Euro 44,000 as support for the very successful “Mango Tango Project” of Tatort across Germany. The concern for the environment in the challenge of climate change has guided Tatort to help the Aeta communities organized and helped by Preda Fair Trade. The fundraising has had amazing success.
Ulrike has been with Tatort-Verein for 26 years, first as a volunteer and then as the Managing Director. She began work as a volunteer with Tatort-Verein soon after the making of the famous television episode named Tatort Manila in the Philippines. After all the many television documentaries and reports on the work of Preda, Tatort Verein is one of the most long-term dedicated groups that supports the work of Preda about which they made an episode. Ulrike has just retired and will remain a member of the Tatort Verein Board of Directors.
The mango tree planting project of Tatort, “Mango Tango” will be a gift from the German people that have caring hearts for the people of the Philippines and especially the indigenous people of the Aeta communities.
As many as 100,000 four-foot tall mango saplings will be bought and distributed to the 16 Aeta communities in Zambales by the Preda Fair Trade team in partnership with Tatort-Verein.
During her visit, Ulrike visited the children at the Preda Homes for boys and girls and chatted with the children and hopes to tell their stories through the Tatort website.
The partnership grew and in the past years Tatort Verein has raised funds to help build the homes for children and supported the boys rescued from detention. Tatort has also supported the abused children rescued from human traffickers and abusers. They have supported hundreds of children in their walk to freedom and a new life. Mabuhay Tatort Verein!
